This is an unobstructed view of the coast of Dubai as seen from the Skyview Lounge. I enjoyed this view even more than the view from the Burj Khalifa, since we were out past the coastline.

What a futuristic looking building!

This is the interior of the Skyview Bar. To me, it reminded me of the 60’s, and I couldn’t help but feel a bit like Don Draper from Mad Men while we were here.

What’s a mall without an aquarium, amirite?

Before entering the Skyview Lounge, guests walk through this tunnel. I’m not sure about the significance, other than it’s jaw-droppingly cool and makes you feel like your stepping into another dimension.

When I went up I heard the theme song from Rocky. But in Arabic.

The Sheikh and the Shaykhah require further refreshment.

Sadly, my hopes were crushed when I found out there were no lemon bars here.

From the Earth to the sky.

The view was so much that I needed a quick nap!

A design inspired by both nature and culture.

Granny’s Waffles: Only in Dubai, it’s waffle-rageous!

Afternoon tea at the Burj Al Arab is not like high tea anywhere else. Here at the top of the 4th tallest hotel in the world, you have Sky High Tea!

This is a fountain in The Souk that I thought was beautiful.

And we didn’t even get wet!

Now we’re here!

We both waffled on what to order, but in the end I got the Strawberries and White Chocolate, while Meka got the Granny’s Favorite: Bananas and Caramel.

Even the windows of the Grand Mosque were amazing!

The detail on the ceiling, walls, and floor is remarkable!

An army of nutcrackers awaited us inside the lobby of the Burj Al Arab. Luckily, they were only a display, or else nuts everywhere would have fled before their might.
